One of the ways many people fail in internet marketing is that they
don’t know how to outsource their business. As soon as you start
making good money in your business, you should start outsourcing
your daily tasks. Many people have heard this before. I would
guarantee that most of us already know how important outsourcing is
to your success online.
The big problem is that many people don’t know how to properly
train their virtual assistants. They expect too much out of their
virtual assistants. They don’t know how to train them.
These five tips are critical to training your virtual assistant.
Tip 1: Have patience with your virtual assistant.
When you hire a new virtual assistant to take over many of your
tasks in your business, your first step is to have some patience
with their work. You need to spend more than a few hours with your
virtual assistant before you fire them. Before you make an offer
to a virtual assistant, you should test them first on a couple
small projects. Once they have proven their worth, make them an
offer, and stick to your guns! Expect your virtual assistant to
need training in the first few weeks they work for you.
Tip 2: Give your virtual assistant a training guide with your
When you first get started with your virtual assistant, give them a
training guide to follow. Ask them to read it on their first day
on the job. Pay them for reading the guide! Treat them just like
you would be treated if you started a new job. You need to train
your virtual assistant even if they have experience in the tasks
they will be doing for you. Everybody has a different philosophy
of how they want things done, and you need to train them to do
things the way you want them done! Do not assume anything! We all
know what happens when you assume!
Tip 3: Get daily reports from your virtual assistant.
Ask your virtual assistant to email a daily report detailing what
they did for that day. You want to have something in writing to
make it easy for you to see what your virtual assistants are doing.
Make sure your expectations are reasonable! Most virtual
assistants are not going to write 10 articles a day. You do not
have to read the reports all the time, but it keeps your virtual
assistant honest, and they will know that they have to report to
you at the end of the day.
Tip 4: Reward them for great work.
When your virtual assistant does a great job, reward them for their
work! Even if you are not completely impressed with everything
they are doing, your virtual assistant needs regular encouragement.
Tell them that you like what they are doing. Pay them an
unannounced bonus on special occasions. Maybe you could even give
them an unexpected paid vacation day. If they do exceptional work,
you want to do everything in your power to keep them.
Tip 5: Continue training your virtual assistants
The ultimate goal of your virtual assistants should be to outsource
every aspect of your business. To make sure your virtual
assistants don’t get bored, I would continue training them in new
aspects of your business regularly. Train them how to do keyword
research. Train them how to setup basic WordPress blogs. Show
them how to use automation tools like SENuke X and Article
Marketing Robot. Keep your virtual assistants engaged and learning
I see many people who treat their virtual assistants like crap.
Don’t be that guy! Your virtual assistants are people too, and
your best workers can always find someone else to work with if you
don’t treat them well. Train your team just like anyone in a job
is trained. Don’t expect the first virtual assistant you hire to
work out for you. You will probably go through several people
before you find someone that works well with your business.
